28 Sept 06 --- 7th World Rogaining Championships 2006

There is now only 2 weeks to go until the 7th World Rogaining Championships! They will be staged in the Warrumbungle Mountains of NSW, on Friday 13th & Saturday 14th October. The event title has been released in the last week: The Stargazer's Rogaine. The specially created event map is now printed, and from all reports looks beaut.

Here is an update from the course setters: Generally it's been dry over the winter and a return to drought conditions in most of NSW. While it's bad news for farmers, it's quite favourable for us. Unlike last spring, when rains brought an abundance of weeds and a great nuisance from flies, this year no such problems. Some light rains have ensured the course looks green but the growth is slight. It was looking very pretty last weekend. The weather's been unusually hot this past week. Hopefully this will pass and we will be back to normal for the event.

If you are participating in the event - we look forward to seeing you.

If not, why not follow the drama through the ongoing news updates leading up to and during the compeition, which will be linked off the event website www.rogaine2006.com.au.
